Plastic "silverware" gets dressed up for any event with a bit of ribbon and doilies (of course!).
I have two techniques here - one is the simple wrap and the other is the "fan fold".
Both are super easy - and really dress up a buffet table.
These are samples of the roll up - each fastened with different material.
From left to right:
- Wide ribbon (using double sided tape)
- Black Tulle cut to ribbon width
- Blue ribbon 1/4 inch width
- Gold fabric covered elastic
These are samples of the "fan fold" - each fastened with different material.
From left to right:
- Wide ribbon (using double sided tape)
- White Tulle cut to ribbon width
- Blue ribbon 1/4 inch width
- Sheer pink ribbon with sequins
I like the fan - it gives the set a bit more polish...
This is very easy to accomplish - just fold the doily in 1/4 folds across the entire doily.
Nest the silverware in center and tie!
For those of you who need a visual... please follow along:
3 pc set of "silverware"
1 6" inch paper doily
1 pc of ribbon/lace/twine etc - 12 inches long
Turn doily over - so it is "good side" facing down/
Fold exactly (more or less) in half.
Fold back one side to create an approximately 1/4 "fold".
Repeat until one side is completely folded.
Flip over and fold the other side the same way.
Now doily is folded into one "strip" approximately 1/4 to 1/2 wide.
Release and doily will have fan folds.
Nestle the silverware in center fold.
Pinch doily together and add ribbon.
Voila! so pretty!
